AT J & F Goldfire we cover a vast range of electrical work.
Fire Alarm Systems
We handle the design, installation, maintenance, servicing and commissioning of radio, conventional, and addressable fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with BS5389 safety regulations and BAFE compliant. Additionally, we offer an emergency call-out service to promptly address any fire alarm activations or system issues.
Monitoring
A fire alarm monitoring system connects your building’s fire alarm panel to a remote monitoring centre (Central Monitoring Station or CMS) and is monitored 24 hours a day. When the alarm is triggered by smoke or heat or manual pull stations the system sends a signal to the monitoring centre which then alerts the relevant parties who will attend to the alert. This service is monitored 24/7 365 days a year.
Maintenance/Servicing
Fire alarm maintenance includes regular inspections, testing, and servicing to ensure systems work correctly in emergencies. This involves checking components, testing responsiveness, addressing power issues, cleaning detectors, and replacing faulty parts. Scheduled maintenance—monthly, quarterly, or annually—is essential for safety compliance and occupant protection.
PAVA/EVAC Systems
A public announcement (PA) system broadcasts messages to large audiences in places like schools, airports, and train stations. It uses microphones, amplifiers, and loudspeakers to deliver clear, real-time or recorded messages for general announcements, important information, emergency alerts, and crowd management. PA systems are essential for maintaining order, safety, and efficient communication in public spaces.
Disabled Refuge System
A disabled refuge wired system is a communication setup in multi-story buildings to help individuals with disabilities during emergencies. Located in "refuge areas," it includes intercoms or call points for direct communication with the buildings control room/centre/reception. This ensures those in refuge areas can signal for help and receive instructions. A non-functional system poses risks by preventing communication and potentially delaying rescue efforts.
Fire Extinguishers
Fire extinguishers are vital for controlling small fires and come in various types for different fire classes. Proper use and maintenance are crucial for effective fire safety. Understanding the types of fires and how to operate extinguishers can make a significant difference in emergencies.
Emergency Landing
Emergency lighting in the UK, governed by BS 5266-1 standards, ensures visibility and safe evacuation during power outages or emergencies. Compliant emergency lighting is essential for ensuring safe evacuation and regulatory compliance in UK buildings.
